Silicone Wound Contact Layer 10cm x 18cm

Medstock Silicone Wound Contact Layer is a highly permeable dressing made with a soft silicone layer designed to gently adhere to the skin. It features a quality medical-grade silicone that allows easy application and removal while maintaining a moist wound environment to promote healing.

Key Functions and Features

  • Gentle, one-sided adhesive interface that stabilises and seals wound margins
  • Atraumatic removal minimises pain and tissue damage
  • Large perforations allow easy passage of exudate
  • Customisable and conformable to fit and protect any wound shape or size
  • Acts as a protective layer for non-exuding wounds or intact skin, minimising epidermal stripping
  • Enables effective wound cleansing without disturbing underlying tissue

Indications for Use

  • Suitable for wounds with nil to very high exudate when used with an appropriate secondary waterproof dressing
  • Ideal for fragile tissue management
  • Suitable for skin tears, skin abrasions, lacerations, surgical incisions, partial thickness burns, vascular ulcers and partial to full thickness skin grafts
  • Acts as a protective wound contact layer in combination with negative pressure wound therapy

Contraindications / Precautions

  • Do not use Medstock Silicone Wound Contact Layer in combination with oxidising agents such as hypochlorite solutions (e.g., EUSOL) or hydrogen peroxide
  • If reddening or sensitisation occurs, discontinue use and consult a physician
  • For skin graft fixation or blister protection, do not change or lift the dressing before the fifth day post-application, unless directed by your physician
  • The wound should be inspected for signs of infection in accordance with local clinical guidelines
  • Use caution when applying to burns with meshed grafts, avoiding pressure and repositioning the dressing at least every two days
  • Always consult a medical professional for appropriate medical treatment
