Babcock Tissue Forceps
Babcock Tissue forceps are Grasping Forceps with a rachet mechanism, ring handles and triangular tips with horizontal serrations. The one blade has a horizontal groove and the other a ridge, on closure the ridge fits into the groove securing and preventing the held structure from slipping. Their shape lends this style of forcep to being frequently used for grasping tube shaped structures and is frequently used during appendicectomy, tubal ligation, intestinal and laparotomy procedures.
