Shocking Reveal: The ZOLL AED 3 Range

World leaders in defibrillation technology, ZOLL have released a new range of automated external defibrillators, introducing the AED 3. Surpassing its predecessor the AED Plus, the AED 3 is packed with innovative and breakthrough features thus demonstrating the Zoll Medical Corporation's commitment to technological advancement and duty of care. Here is everything you need to know about the new AED 3 range.     Shocking Reveal- The ZOLL AED 3 Range.png     The people at ZOLL understand that defibrillator requirements vary for people depending on the environment and skill set of the available operators in the case of an emergency. For this reason, ZOLL have released not 1, but 3 versions of the AED 3 defibrillator. Let's get to know what the differences are between the three models and what they are all best suited for.

The AED 3 - Fully Automatic model

Zoll AED Auto.png     The fully automatic model is designed for general first aid use, it is ideal for workplaces, schools, shopping centres and sporting clubs etc. The fully automatic function means that anyone, even someone with no defibrillator training whatsoever, can use this model. It talks through step by step everything that the user needs to do, provides CPR support and determines automatically whether defibrillation is required. If defibrillation is required it also automatically emits a shock - after advising the user to stand clear.

The AED 3 - Semi Automatic model

Zoll AED 3 Semi.png     This model is semi-automatic; meaning it automatically diagnoses the patient's condition and prompts the user to administer CPR or defibrillation. It provides the same CPR assistance, feedback and support as the fully automatic model. The main difference with this model is the presence of a shock button that requires user activation to initiate defibrillation. While it can be used by someone with no defibrillator training in an emergency situation. This defibrillator is ideal for those with defibrillator experience and first aid or medical training.

The AED 3 BLS

zoll-aed-bls copy     The AED 3 BLS model is semi-automatic and has a range of features geared towards use in the field of professional rescue including paramedicine and all emergency services. These features include an ECG display and a CPR dashboard. Providing users with real-time visual ECG monitoring and audible/visual CPR rate, depth and compression feedback. It also allows for these details to be recorded and transferred over to the ZOLL online RescueNet Case Review software. The AED 3 BLS  features a hardened case and is able to be used on its side or base down for optimum versatility in challenging environments. So now that we know the differences between the three models, what are some of the universal features that make the AED 3 range so appealing?     zoll_aed3_banner_2     Designed and built on the foundation of years of usability research with both trained and untrained rescuers, the ZOLL AED 3 range is easy to use and equipped with improved Real CPR Help®, ZOLL’s real-time CPR feedback technology. CPR assist technology has been a must-have feature for defibrillators for some time now, but the people at ZOLL continue to strive for better. Providing more accurate feedback and instruction to optimise CPR success and mitigate the use of shock if possible. Another key feature of the ZOLL AED 3 is the low ownership cost made possible by the use of CPR Uni-Padz universal adult/paediatric electrode pads and a high quality lithium battery that both last for 5 years, making the ZOLL AED 3 easy to own. The convenience of having CPR Uni-Padz means that with a click of a button the user can switch between child or adult settings. Rather than needing to replace the pads entirely to suit the patient, this time saving benefit could mean the difference between life or death in an emergency. We know how critical early defibrillation is to ensure a good chance of survival. Maintenance has been made easy with the new Program Management Onboard™ software which connects to the cloud via Wi-Fi to ZOLL’s PlusTrac™ AED program management system. This revolutionary software performs digital device testing for the AED-3 and emails through the reports, meaning that minimal maintenance inspections are needed. The software sends email alerts immediately if any failures or issues are ever detected in the AED 3 and keeps track of the pad and battery use by dates for you.     AED-3_Banner.jpg     Medshop Australia is a proud supplier of the ZOLL AED 3 range including a full range of accessories.
