Cleaning Instructions for Cryoalfa Perfect, Pro and Lux

It is obvious that for all kind of treatments on patients, strict cleaning, disinfecting and probable sterilizing processes are recommended, required or even mandatory.

The cold does already avoid a lot of problems by destroying or immobilizing some of the microbes but due to the fact that in general we don’t have pathological examinations prior to a treatment we are not informed about possible microbes.

Therefore it is strictly recommended to observe the following points.

After each treatment of skin lesions, the tips must be disinfected with alcohol or any other special disinfectant available for the medical market.

The high pressure in the cartridges blows out all liquid of the tip inside caused by the backflow into the tip through capillary force. While working on non infectious skin areas the tip should be disinfected.

1.    Wipe off the tip with a disinfectant.
2.    Press the lever of the unit for 1 second to release some gas.
3.    Wipe off the tip for a second time with a disinfectant.
4.    Allow the disinfectant to react for a few minutes before using it again on other patients.


Working on infectious skin areas or in case the tip comes in touch with blood or mucous membrane, sterilization is necessary.

1.    Screw off the tip from the unit.
2.    Put the tip in a disinfectant or wipe it off.
3.    Seal it in a pouch.
4.    Sterilize the tip in an appropriate program (for instance prion program 18 minutes) at 134° C
5.    Sterilize it only in a steam or gas sterilizer (no dry heat sterilizers)
